Grays Fair Court is a modern multi-storey building accommodating up to 20 respite guests on the ground floor and 34 sheltered tenants. There are a number of rooms dedicated for use as a Community Resource. The building is designed according to all the latest standards offering the utmost in convenience and accessibility. Each respite room is attractively decorated with its own en-suite facility.

This service was previously operated from Ethel Tipple Court in Hellesdon, Norwich.

 

 

 

Resource Centre provides:

A day service for older people with a range of support needs. The service operates Monday to Saturday with fully trained staff and volunteers.

Places at the Centre can be arranged directly with the Coordinator for a private booking or through Adult Social Services if eligible for support.

Respite Service provides:

A short stay residential care services for older people. There are 20 spacious single rooms, all attractively decorated, with ensuite bathrooms.

Bookings can be made for up to 6 weeks by private arrangement directly with the Respite Admissions Coordinator or through Adult Social Services, if eligible for support.

Quality support

We encourage residents to have a positive and rewarding stay at Grays Fair Court by ensuring privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights and fulfilment are maintained.

With your help, we will draw up an individual care plan, designed to suit your requirements. Whether you simply need a helping hand getting in and out of bed, or assistance using our specially equipped rooms and bathrooms our trained team are on hand 24 hours a day to provide you with the support you need.

Catering

Meals are served in the restaurant and we offer a choice of menu. All special diets are catered for. No booking is needed.

We offer early morning tea or coffee, and refreshments are served mid-morning and afternoon.

Individual support is available for those who need assistance at mealtimes.

Visitors are welcome to join respite guests for lunch and/or tea. You or your visitors are free to help yourself to drinks in the dining area at any time.

Activities and Entertainment

An optional programme of entertainment and activities is organised throughout the year.

Our facilities include:

• Trained staff on duty 24 hours per day
• "On-Call" system in every room
• Bed linen and towels provided
• Personal laundry service
• Lounges with colour television
• Valuables and cash may be deposited for safe keeping
• A pleasant garden to relax in
• Hairdressing Salon
• Chiropody
• Well-being activities
• Newspapers can be ordered daily
• IT Access
• Links with the local ministry
• Local Group meeting rooms.

Bookings

Bookings are accepted through Norfolk Social Services following assessment or on a private basis directly with Grays Fair Court for any length of short stay, single nights or several weeks.

Relatives and friends

Relatives and friends are encouraged to visit at any time and as often as they wish, but are asked to sign the visitor's book in reception. Well-behaved pets may visit by arrangement.

How to find us

From the Outer Ring Road in Norwich, take the Dereham Road (A1074) towards New Costessey. At the roundabout go straight on along the A1074 with the Quality Hotel on your left, then turn first right into Grays Fair.
